Advanced Wastewater Treatment by Repurposing Sewage Sludge Derived Biochar

is an interdisciplinary research project focused on developing sustainable solutions for advanced wastewater treatment. The project explores the use of biochar produced from sewage sludge through a novel gasification process as a low-cost and efficient adsorbent for removing nutrients, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, and other micropollutants from wastewater by combining advanced adsorption processes with flow-through filtration systems and circular economy principles by repurposing waste materials.
